a day of colour

...had a real indulgent day in the studio today, collating ideas for next years collections and focusing on strong colour palettes to introduce to each new design. I spend hours in my garden studying the wonderful colours that nature blends, this simple pleasure has inspired the new colour collections for next years designs, (even though half of the collections are still yet to take to the drawing board). So, using this selection of colour, I will escape for two weeks in August to produce new sketches and watercolours ready for 2010/2011....will post the developments here. Two new collections have already been designed and I will let you have a sneaky peak at some point this week....

more rain anyone??

...a few pics from the french corsage collection, these were taken in the studio last month as we were working on late spring weddings. Looking out of the studio window and it looks like this summers strong colour trend that you may wish to adapt will be grey, more grey with possibly a little soft grey thrown in......more rain anyone???....

the production line...

Here is an order, in its making, from the Vintage Bouquet Collection in Duck Egg. I always love how the stationery looks while it waits in the studio to be moved to the next process of scoring or cutting or folding or packing...and the Peonie Collection waits its turn...

backdrop of pattern

I have spotted this idea here and there and think it is a wonderful, inexpensive, simple idea to have a fabulous backdrop of fabric that keeps the theme of the day running through your photographs and bring a splash of colour and decoration to the venue... you can then reuse the fabric to make cushions to remember the day as you lounge around in your new 'marital home'...
You are sure to find something at designers guild
