Español florales

...we are working hard in the studio, finally the sun is shining, its Saturday, and there's still 750 pieces of card to be cut by hand, thought we would bring sunshine to the blog,...a few spanish rays of colour ..... we have recently worked on alot of overseas weddings, wonderful and unusual collections of colours to capture the summer sunshine. Clients have been more daring with their general styling this year and this is something that we hope will continue. Therefore if you are just working on your colour palette think about using an interesting mix of 4 or 5 colours. the place cards above show how you can really mix colour, yet it can still work as a collection.....drop us a line is you want to have a chat about your ideas (contact details are on the site)....enjoy the weekend!

wall of sweet peas for Emma

In a previous post, back in February, I talked about my love for sweet peas. It is a mixture of childhood memories - when I used to spend every Sunday morning at my grandads allotment picking crops for hours - and also their sweet simplicity and scent. Anyway, this spurred myself and a client (hi Emma) to grow some from seed and have ready for her July wedding - and it has worked, so now we have large crops to place in small porcelain vases for the centre of the tables as well as positioning them on napkins. Soooo if you are getting married next year and are working to a bit of a tight budget then you may want to consider growing your own flowers and get the whole family involved so you are not just relying on your own bloom!!!! The other bonus is that I now have a wall of sweet peas situated in my favourite spot of the garden so I can enjoy their colour and scent in the early evening.....heaven.....has anyone else grown their own florals for their day or an occasion?

casting the shadows

I thought I'd post these photographs that I took in the studio this morning, it has been an extremely frustrating couple of days as the temperature rises outside and the perfect summer days form, and we are confined to the squareness of the studio.....soooo the sunshine rewards us this morning by casting the shadows from the tree outside onto the walls and brings a bit of the outside in..........now we are just hoping for the ice cream van to pass by!!!!!

a little creativity

Looking for inspiration and want to be a little creative with your bouquets, then you may be interested in these exciting images from Laura and Bens wedding. Laura is the owner/designer maker of Wren Handmade and has used all her artistic talents and thrown them into making all these wonderful creations (she may have had a little help?)......

Laura also produces these wonderful little hair clips that would be perfect for all of your little bridemaids - great selection of colour to choose from!...I love the small pots of geraniums on the floral tablecloth - get planting!!!!
