a window of whitby

...a little break was taken this weekend, Mr Hunter was celebrating forty marvellous years of meandering through life! An over night bag was packed and we went to Whitby as Mr & Mrs and not Mummy and Daddy. We sauntered through the very busy cobbled streets. Wasn't it hot!! We picked the wrong weekend, everybody was out, the sun had his hat on and his showing off brought out bikini clad women and bare chested men laid out on the small scattered beaches which looked rather odd in Whitby, I have to say. Not being sun worshippers, I wore a scarf and Jamie wore a shirt and jumper - I think we may have stood out a little. So here is a little window of Whitby......

...the following were taken very early this morning -

heavy cloud, rain, and not a soul about...

what a difference a day makes, 24 little hours.......

In all the times I have visited I have never seen Arguments Lane...what a brilliant name/address:-)
Glad you have had time to enjoy being a couple-really important-and to get away somewhere nice together whilst we had a last glimpse of summer!!

Is that 3rd one down The Owl & The Pussycat shop, or Shepherds Purse!

I have the exact same photo of Arguments Yard ;)

You know just how much I love this place, my little spiritual home it is WONDERFUL!

Halloween in Whitby is incredible! We did it 2 years ago and would be doing it again this year but unfortunately I'm booked out on business! Luckily we have friends with a house right in the heart of this gorgeous seaside town. If you do go during one of the twice annual Goth Weekends, expect it to be VERY, VERY busy. But totally worth it for the sites!

Whitby is somewhere I would love to live - I'll be forever grateful to my childhood best friend and her family who would take me along with them on some of their Whitby breaks.

Gorgeous pictures Vicky!! I'm actually living vicariously through you as I haven't been back there for a year or so now. Did you get to Lizzie Bothams for a pot of Resolution Tea and some Whitby gingerbread?!

Many happy returns to the Mr, what a brilliant way to spend a birthday weekend! :-)
