there is also a little giveaway too to entice you over into this new floral community.....just simply click on any of the images and you will be transported to a very decorative place....
I love the outdoors and find woodland walking very peaceful. I like the feeling of being surrounded by nature and find the beauty of flowers, plants and trees inspiring. I'm also a great animal lover and it's such a delight to spot a red squirrel, rabbit or unusual bird whilst out walking.
It's the most beautiful place I've visited in Northumberland, with different plants and flowers to see every season. My favourite time to visit is May and June, when the tulips, rhododendrons and azaleas are in full bloom. The Earl Grey Tea House is very decadent, with huge windows facing out onto the gardens. I always feel very relaxed after spending a day at Howick.
Beth
is my favourite design from the new Innocence collection. It's a silk satin and French lace flower with soft curled feather and sparkling strands of Swarovski crystal AB and ivory pearl. It's very elegant with hints of 1920s vintage style.
Darcy
from the Tutu collection, was featured on the front cover of Brides magazine last spring, which was quite a high point in my career.
Georgina
from the Roses and Lace collection, is my best selling design. It has a detachable birdcage veil, which can be removed after the ceremony for two looks in one.
Titania
is my limited edition design from the Tutu collection.
It's a very special piece as only 20 will be made! I also wore this piece myself at the Love My Dress Summer Soiree.
I love it when my brides send me photographs from their wedding days. I have a page on my website called
In The Spotlight,
where I showcase a new bride every month. I couldn't
possibly pick my favourite as they have all been so lovely, but this is my current bride InThe Spotlight.
I love Coronation Street and never miss an episode! I actually designed and made the headpieces for Carla and Molly's weddings, which was so exciting!
Many of my
Bridal Tiarashave been inspired by the 1920s and 1930s and this stylish era continues to inspire me. I loved the costumes in The Artist and W.E. and I'm looking forward to seeing the The Great Gatsby.
I love reading wedding blogs and really can't choose which one I like best as I have four favourites!
favourite piece of classical music and I remember it from a ballet show I was in when I was younger. It's so twinkly, I love it!
Who would play me?...That's actually really easy. I went to dancing school with Andrea Riseborough, who played Wallis Simpson W.E. She's a brilliant actress and we have known each other for over 25 years, so I'm sure she would do a good job!
I've only recently joined Pinterest, so I'm still finding my feet with it. I'm in love with Tim Walker's whimsical photography and this is my favourite image on Pinterest. 'Lily and Spiral Staircase' is just so beautiful.
...it's all got a tad exciting in the studio over the last day or two....I am about to enter the beginning of my 'new year'... My studio year ends in August as I embark on the launch of a new approach to The Vintage Drawer, 2011/2012 collection was all about the 40's and 50's and the new for 2012/2013 will romantically sway to the arts and crafts of the 1930's...
So in preparation for the 'new' - a little photo shoot is taking place here over the next two weeks... so walls have been painted and layered and sanded and re-coloured ready to be styled with lots of 'floral love'.......
...and to end chapters - this little blog will close at the end of August.... it is full to capacity and I need to step stone to another place filled with colour, inspiration, a place of calm and a floral community... so will you join me over at my new journal? There is even a little linen giveaway to entice you over.... don't be shy, I've put the kettle in anticipation that you will pay a visit to The Linen Garden ....

Staying somewhere
with a sea view so that I could wake up to the sound of seagulls and waves. A
leisurely breakfast and a walk along the beach with my family. Playing with the
kids and having a picnic in the sunshine. A wander round some vintage shops or
some pretty clifftop gardens. Finishing the day with fish and chips or an
evening in an old fashioned pub with friends
Always the seaside…I love
the English seaside - North Norfolk especially and Devonis also a favourite. Can’t beat a day on the beach with buckets and spades!
I am obsessed with
quiz shows! I love Only Connect even though some of the questions are
ridiculously hard but current favourite has to be Pointless. I love sitting
down with a cuppa to watch it once the kids are in bed before the evening
mayhem of work and chores starts again!
Getting a pointless answer is a joy..how sad am I!!
(need to get out more
obviously…!)
Everything inspires me…from
magazines to films and books, my kids, a snippet of conversation, a colour, a
photograph – anything can set off an idea. One of the most inspiring things for
me right now seem to be photography blogs…I could look at them for hours. Some
of their beautiful images are breath-taking and they fuel my imagination.
I asked Steve (aka Mr
kipperchops) who he thought could play me in a film of my life and he said
‘Salma Hyek’…pretty blummin’ pleased with that I can tell you! (that’s why I
love him!)
I guess if I was picking actresses
that I love I’d choose Anna Friel, Rachel Wiesz or Juliet Binoche (so elegant)
The soundtrack was a hard
choice…something soft and seaside-y would be lovely for the intro (like ‘At The
River’ by Groove Armada) but something a bit more upbeat would probably suit me
better! (or maybe something from Calamity Jane…I am a big clumsy oaf!!)
I adore reading
blogs..they are so fascinating. All sorts of blogs appeal – lifestyle,
creative, wedding, photography, homelife …I could lose hours (and have!) but currently
Happy Loves Rosiehas
to be a favourite.
I go back to Happy’s page time and time again – there is
always so much to look at! I love her vintage finds and her fabulous caravan
and it’s a joy to read.
I think Pinterest is
brilliant! I’ve always loved making up my own moodboards and this just makes
the whole process easier! There are some beautiful images out there and some hilarious
stuff too. I’m finding it so hard to choose!! Can I have a funny one and a pretty one please??
Ok I went with a funny one from my Quirky Cute and Curious board as there
were far too many pretty pics to choose from! (this one always makes me smile)
Music has played a
big part in my life so I’ve usually got the radio or ipod playing while I work.
I have eclectic taste from Classical to heavy 70s Rock and everything in
between! One of my favourite albums is the soundtrack to Chocolat – I have
played it a million times but never tire of the beautiful pieces of music. It
really depends wat kind of mood I’m in but generally I’ll put my ipod on
shuffle and see what surprises I get. I’ve picked a few songs but I could have
chosen hundreds more!!
